1. Degree Tracking Software:

Advocate for a tool that many schools across Ontario already utilize; software that helps students plan their degree, track completed courses, and identify remaining requirements for graduation.

2. Expand Student Senator Involvement in Faculty-level decisions:

The Senate is the final body for course and program changes to be approved. It’s often too late to change things at the Senate. I want Senators to be on faculty and other councils to give student input earlier in the process.

3. Fighting against program cuts and reductions:

The province has cut funding to the university. We need to make sure that while the university seeks savings, that does not come at the expense of students. Students deserve the education they signed up for.

Andrew has served as your incumbent Arts Senator for the past year and a half, alongside roles on the WUSA Board of Directors and the Accounting & Finance Student Association. With a deep understanding of university bureaucracy and governance, Andrew is ready to tackle the challenges of the upcoming year. As the university navigates a budget crisis, Andrew will focus on protecting the Faculty of Arts from course and program cuts and holding the administration accountable for their promises during the faculty reorganization.

ADDRESING COURSE RESTRUCTURING

With the transition from ARTS 130 and 140 to ARTS 160, many Arts students have raised concerns about how course restructuring affects progression, repeat options, and degree planning.

As Arts Senator, I will bring these issues forward at Senate to ensure that transitional policies are clearly communicated and that students are not unfairly disadvantaged by changes made partway through their degree. I will also advocate for appropriate case-by-case accommodations where needed.

ARTS FIRST COOP-RESOURCES

Equity requires recognizing structural differences across faculties. As many Arts students pursue double majors or joint programs, I will push for communication that reflects their academic pathways, and seek improved Co-op resources and support tailored to Arts students.

You Decide - Feedback Form, Real Follow-up.

I will also maintain a structured Arts student feedback form, so that our voices can be followed up on.

I will advocate for transparent transitional policies, fair case-by-case accommodations, and Arts-specific co-op support. I’m committed to maintaining a structured feedback system, so student concerns don’t stop at being “heard,” but are actively followed up on.

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

My goal is to ensure that students' concerns are clearly translated into policy decisions and followed through with concrete outcomes. As the Faculty of Arts undergoes course restructuring and broader reorganization, students—particularly those in double majors or joint programs—are often affected by unclear transitional rules and inconsistent advising. I will advocate for transparent communication, fair case-by-case accommodations, and Arts-specific co-op and academic support. My focus is on bridging policy decisions and students' lived academic realities, so changes made at the faculty level do not unintentionally disadvantage students.
