Top three platform points

I’ve served a term on Senate (not the Engineering seat though!) and would love the opportunity to continue building on the things I’ve accomplished.

Keeping costs fair:
Despite the domestic tuition freeze, international tuition and other fees continue to increase. With the cost of living crisis, we need to make sure fee increases are capped to a reasonable level, and as Senator, I’ll be uniquely placed to advocate for that.

Institutional Transparency and Values:
During my last term on Senate, I wrote and passed motions asking for full disclosure of the University’s investments, a review of those investments to ensure they were ethical, and the implementation of principles to ensure future partnerships were aligned with our values. The University has done some of what I asked—I’m going to keep pushing until they’ve done the rest.

Academic Quality Enhancement:
During my last term on Senate, an “Academic Quality Enhancement Committee” was established. By continuing to engage in discussions around instructor reviews and deferred maintenance to crucial instructional spaces, I can push for the academic experiences you deserve.

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

In my first term as your Senator, I passed more motions than any other elected senator (student or otherwise). This included calling a special Senate meeting, where I wrote and passed three motions calling for disclosure of investments and divestment from arms manufacturers. This advocacy led the President of Technion to write a letter denouncing my actions to Vivek Goel. At the same time, I defended student representation on a range of committees and councils when they came under attack, and ensured that the student academic experience and student intellectual property rights weren’t compromised.

Throughout my term, I worked tirelessly to defend student interests, including skipping many classes to attend the meetings you elected me to attend. If you elect me, I’ll bring this same energy to my second term.
Vote for me not because I’ve served on Senate before, but because I did more as Senator in my first term than anyone thought could be possible.
