Top three platform points

Improving recognition of the WEEF brand through increased in-person visits and social media
Increasing the amount of funds available for proposals especially for student design teams and lab equipment
Increasing transparency and accountability for WEEF through various methods, including showing where funding comes from

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

WEEF is primarily about funding the experiences of undergraduate students, from student design teams to labs, our logo is everywhere but almost nobody knows what WEEF is. I'm here to change that. I will increase WEEF's recognition through a variety of methods including in person visits to each class. I will allocate additional funding to WEEF, enhancing support for student design teams and laboratories, thereby further improving the undergraduate student experience and advancing WEEF’s mission.

2B, Civil Engineering

Top three platform points

1. Communication

Creating a WEEF media team to deliver important information in an easily accessible format.
Building trust in the engineering community by promoting current WEEF initiatives and past WEEF accomplishments.

2. Outreach

Reaching out to potential key industry and alumni sponsors for additional funding sources.
Engaging with underrepresented departments and design teams to spread awareness of what resources WEEF can offer

3. Organization

Working closely with the Engsoc VP Academic to ensure the class reps on file are accurate for each term.
Identifying which classes are missing reps to ensure equal cohort representation at funding council.

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

Showing what WEEF can do for you, so you can show what you can do for WEEF.

I believe that WEEF has so much untapped potential within the engineering community, and the best way to unlock this potential is to generate excitement and engagement around WEEF. Having been involved with WEEF for the past two terms, I have firsthand experience seeing WEEF's strengths and weaknesses.

As the face of WEEF, I will be equally approachable and engaging as I plan the foundation to be. I am always ready to answer questions or listen to your suggestions about WEEF. But I'm also not afraid to reach out first, and tell you about the opportunities for funding at your advantage. WEEF is about spending money after all!

I am strongly committed to accountability and transparency. As a major investor, I recognize that WEEF should hold accountability as a high priority. I strongly support the University task force on Social Responsibility in Investing in their review of the University’s obligations to disclosing its investments, of which WEEF contributes to.

Program & Year of Study

3A, Architectural Engineering

Top three platform points

I wish to streamline the application process for both those applying and those on the funding council. I plan to do this by implementing a detailed procedure for application that includes an example submission. I also want to develop the proposal workshop to provide a visual and verbal explanation of the submission process as well as answer any questions that come up. Further, I want to promote and express my availability at anytime to answer questions and guide those applying. This plan aims to mitigate the repetitive questions that are asked at the funding council meetings.

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

I think that my experience in a leadership position and my exceptional organizational skills through my extracurriculars speaks to my potential to guide the WEEF meetings in a timely and effective manner. I will promote the WEEF organization by personally presenting to all of the B society classes to continue to spread the knowledge of the great things we do and encourage representatives from each class to participate.

Program & Year of Study

1st Year, Computer Engineering

Top three platform points

Increase transparency on workings of WEEF itself and the procurement of funds

Focus on trying to have specified budgets targeted to the teams that come for funding so that we can maintain the innovative mindset that we have in Waterloo Engineering

Work to tap into more sources for funding as a means to fulfill as many proposals as possible so that every design team can continue to prosper.

Reason why someone should vote for you in 100 words or less

Have the aspect of longevity as I am currently a first-year so continuity can be maintained for a larger period of time. Furthermore, having held various leadership positions through my high school career, I am able to manage a team and have it run as efficiently and effectively as possible. I am also looking to and hoping to have more transparency for WEEF in terms of where our funding is going and maintaining a check and balance on whether the funds were indeed utilised for the items mentioned in proposals.
